Someone can tell me if this mu is winnable on this map? because i have the feeling i played well on this game and it's not even close to be enough to have a close game.
Just to know if the next one i will try again or save my time ^^

Re: vs ports on baja
played well for first 10 min then botted super hard. Skirm goon vs walls, overcommiting to the bottom side of the sea when you already secured half the whales (he only had 8 boats and you were spamming war canoes like crazy) not booming on your side of the sea, and sending 4 war canoes instead of crates and age up . sending cav hp when aging to industrial, not teching ur fp and mr to champion when u had so much wood and coin banked, not walling to avoid goon huss running, not getting nat tp for 20% gold income and 5% hp on all military.
Oh and pushing with 10 light cannon in range of his frigates and monitors rather than pushing another angle and his only way to stop it was the 2 culvs he had in que.

too much stagecoach / contain, not enough RAMS
jk, but generally yea I think you contained very well and denied the water on one side, but then basically just let ports sit in base for too long. Idk if this is specific to this matchup or difficult for every civ to stop, but it seems like you either needed to age to 4 much faster and get those light cannons out earlier, or have a much stronger fortress push.
also, you had the whole right side of the water the whole game, you probably could have made some fishing boats just to get the whales. that might have helped you to keep up fp/musket rider production instead of having to switch to tomahawks / aennas at the end.
and also i know its difficult but it felt like you were often pushing into his base in range of warships, better to push on the other side where you controlled the water. hindsight is 20/20 of course, im not saying i would have done it any better, these are just my thoughts on watching the rec

Grandmaster I think your plan was really good but you spent too much time sieging his walls and trying to raid his vills. You could have attacked his docks and securing both coasts much faster and earlier instead. Just my thoughts senpai. Really difficult to raid a port with 2 tcs in base

Re: vs ports on baja
this might have been a rams kinda game. not saying it is the be all end all solution to punishing ports on baja, but I bet the 4 rams shipment in early fortress might have put the pressure on a lot harder, especially if deployed away from the water and supported with unitslemmings121 wrote: rams underrated, insane value. great unit.

Re: vs ports on baja
Maybe start with a dock is better? That way you can harass one side of the sea and storm the other with privateers when necessary

Re: vs ports on baja
People told me about that, and i am to noob to be disagree but when i try that, it fail most of the time because i have the feeling (probably wrong) that canoe sux vs build, they die too fast vs port + boat in._NT_sven wrote:Maybe start with a dock is better? Re: vs ports on baja
I wouldn't try to fight both water sides ever vs Ports. Probably getting your and dropping some fishing boats is the best way.
Re: vs ports on baja
Well it's more like you get a better eco start at age1, and u can just make one or two canoes to idle his boats, just like poking ppl's vil into TC while staying out of its range. I guess it's always good to fight on more frontlines vs. port so that you could bait him to overcommit at one place and punish him at otherschronique wrote:People told me about that, and i am to noob to be disagree but when i try that, it fail most of the time because i have the feeling (probably wrong) that canoe sux vs build, they die too fast vs port + boat in._NT_sven wrote:Maybe start with a dock is better? Re: vs ports on baja
I've tried FI in this MU and it turned out to be a disaster. You'll have to play water imo.
