Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
perfectly balanced, as all things should be
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
well that's stupid, easy fix is to just not make them duplicate over build limit
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
but the guy seems to be very humble and nice, he acknowledges that it's broken and op haha, was a cute game, would watch again 10/10
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!

Great use of early sublime!
Its not only the number, but the quality of those units....
But we all wanted more viable natives right? so on yoruba maps players need to rush them, dutch just chose to not play the map for its strengths. they had no walls, no anti cav, did they even call minute men?
(but yeah of course that type of mass is OP and like wow this is the game now?)

Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
bless this guy, he even asked permission! I knew about the clone tech but thought it was only for cav hence i thought a single tower MM and 10 skirms should be enough maybe 8 pikes i cant remember, even then that was not enough obviously.
The fact that the clone tech applies to both unit types makes this strat incredibly op, i watched the macro back and opponent has got the macro down very well it has to be said

totally understand that!
I might only be playing TR if these big armies kept hitting me at 7 mins.
I forgot about the doubling card tech and that makes this build just too good.
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
yup alt+f4 sounds about right at that point too.. I don't blame you.I_HaRRiiSoN_I wrote:as soon as i saw the army i stopped playinghowlingwolfpaw wrote:Great use of early sublime!

He did call minute man (they lasted a whole 2 seconds alive) cause of ridiculous fast ROF from africa units!
BTW isn't oscillating ROF flying under the radar right now and is creating another level of complexity to the balance of these units?? not sure how many have this new thing going on
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
even if they nerf this doubling thing, using sublime porte and going nats is a cool strat, could be good no matter what natives you get
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
lol. good thing there's nothing gimmicky in this game
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
You could delay native treaties and build the second native tp for even more units
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
the native card only gives more units if they are from different tribes.yurashic wrote:You could delay native treaties and build the second native tp for even more units
ex. another yoruba tp would still give a total of 4 yoruba warriors.
But on the other hand a cool thing about this card is that you can still get the batch of army even if you build the tp after is sent

You can have 7 towers and CM by this point.

Inca can do the same thing! 28 Legion + 4 Rider in 7:00 (at map GoldCoast)
But Inca has a 20% hp aura! More powerful
Build: No house, 10/10 to age 2, build 2 YorubaTP
Card: 2 Llima, 600w, NativeTreaty(4 Yoruba)

Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
Facts about the NativgeTreaty cards:
Basically this cards should give units costing 400-500 resources per Native Ally, such as
4 Ratten Shield (440 resources),
3 Conquistador (465 resources),
4 Cree Tracker (480 resources).
The 2 Sufi Elephant (560 resources) has been a big outlier.
But for African Native...
Yoruba Ally: Gives 4 Legionary, each of which costs 90f90w βtotally 720 resources (what the hell?)
Berber Ally: Gives 3 Camel, each of which costs 120f60g βtotally 540 resources
Akan Ally: Gives 4 Akan musk, each of which costs 75f40g βtotally 460 resources
Sudanese Ally: Gives 4 Dervish, each of which costs 50f40w ----totally 360 resources
Devs just put an arbitrary number here without any attempt to balance it

Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
doesn't feel arbitrary its either 4 for infantry units and a lower number for cav. It broke because the new units are designed differently

Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
No, it's not always 4 infantry. E.g. 5 Carib Blowgunner (500 resources), 3 Udasi Chakram (450 resources), 5 Zapotec Warrior (500 resources). So the number should be decided based on value.helln00 wrote:doesn't feel arbitrary its either 4 for infantry units and a lower number for cav. It broke because the new units are designed differently
Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
but even then the resource cost for shipments is not a set rule, always more of a guideline.
It should be balanced on the whether the shipment is balanced overall rather then the value, since then changing resource costs of units can lead to weird impact for this card. For example 4 Dervish is probably reasonable considering how powerful the unit is but according to the resource cost it should be buffed to 5 Dervish

I agree. But now the problem is the 4 Yoruba Legionhelln00 wrote:but even then the resource cost for shipments is not a set rule, always more of a guideline.

Re: Ottoman Yoruba Rush - The Most OP/BROKEN BO EVER?!?!
Could be done by nerfing the units, a lot of african units are getting nerfed now, Dervish included so I would want to see how this plays out. The Legionary trains so slowly and with such a small unit cap that a small nerf to the unit might be enough.ziper wrote:I agree.
