Re: Central America vs Baja California
Hey Widgie, good stuff! I'm also liking the Central American revolt as Mexico, but my build differs a bit, I thought I'd share it with you, in case you wanted to try it out.
I always go TP if there is one because the shipments are just so good for mexico/Central A, like that 1 vill per shipment later on.
Standard Age 1. Age 14-16 vill (mostly 15, which seems standard)
Ship 2vill-hacienda / Cheaper Revolts (optional) / Landgrab
*Note: Cheaper revolts is worth around 1000 res, but it delays your 18v by 1 shipment. 18V gather 1000 res in around 1m15. So both cards are kind of the same. But with the earlier vills, you use up natural resources, you need transition your eco or send vills far away sooner. It's situational, I think most ppl would skip the cheaper age up cards in most cases, because you might win the game before aging to IV anyways.
transition: Macro to have 225/225/225 or (300 of each without card) for Central america as soon as you hit age 2.
Age 2: Revolt instantly. You get 7 vills straight away, which pays off so fast, and still get acces to all res crates (rev deck) & your federal cards, so there's literally no reason not to!
Spam Revolutionaries constantly as soon as you need to. 15v on food will allow full batches from 1 building constantly. +/-15 vills on food, some on wood, maybe 1-2 on gold for falc shipment. I like to get market ups, but it's greedy
Ship 700W (haciendas) / 1 Falc (defend) or 600W (greed) / 18 Vill
By 7.5 minutes you easily have 1 falc & 12-18 revolutionaries, and a 40 vill eco by 9 minutes. Later, I usually ship the 1 vill per shipment card around #9-#10 so you'll have around 50 vills.
With the cheaper age ups, you'll slow down the boom by 1 shipment but will have the options to age for 1500f/900g and ship in the big age IV eco & military cards.
Because you're literally not using any age 2 or 3 cards, you can fill your deck with age IV cards, have your 2-3 age 1 mandatory cards, and the rest can be eco or upgrades or whatever.
Note: In your game, you had to ship a unit shipment in case you get rushed. If you revolt instantly, you can just build revolutionaries instanlty, so there's no reason to ship any of mexico's bad age 2 military shipments, you can just ship 7 revolutionaries or the outposts if you need more defense. A dozen of trained revs + falc or 7 rev card + minutemen should deal with any 6-7 minute timing push in the game imo. And it's so easy to macro, once you've got your 6 haciendas & 18 vills in, you keep a handful of vills on wood, 1-2 on gold and the rest on food.
So really the main difference is I revolt as soon as I hit age 2 because there is little or no advantage in not doing so imo

Yeah I've been trying both to be honest, the greedy 18v into revolt and the fast revolt ASAP. My only concern with revolting straight away into age 2 is the fact that you don't have the villagers to sustain your eco. I guess you have the TP for extra XP and shipments but I prefer getting the 18v around 7min and then revolting to get a further 7v!
EDIT: I've just realised that you still have access to the textiles card if you revolt because it's a federal state card! I might give this a go however it will delay the 18v but you can always protect the base with revolutionaries.
Lemme know what you think :)

Re: Central America vs Baja California
Yeah exactly, so instead of waiting after your vills training vills until the 7-minute mark, you revolt and get 22 vills at 5 minutes. Train revolutionaries while sending wood and gathering wood, then send the 18v card around 8 min, and you probably didn't need to ship any unit shipments cuz you've been able to train revolutionaries in your rax and/or TC, and they're somewhat cheap for their stats (and easy to macro lol). And yeah, all state cards are still accessible! So yeah, it's definitely an option, it feels a bit safer to me, comes down to personal preferenceWidgie wrote:EDIT: I've just realised that you still have access to the textiles card if you revolt because it's a federal state card!
