DE auto delete all system files

This is crazy, not gonna start the game until this is solved. Thanks for the people who warned the rest!! I know this desaster won't hit everybody playing, but better be safe than sorry. I'm not forced to start the game anyway, I can wait the couple of days.

Opened ep and closed it almost immediately because the game looked like dogshit. Also there was no thrill factor of wondering if the game is gonna delete my OS

Deleting files randomly is dogshit, AoE 3 Classic is good

OMG ! I've just had my game crashed also with 3 of my friends, I think we're fine (afaik) but now that i read such horror news in here (taunt 15!)
First of all: i'm sorry for those who lost important data if they haven't made back up. and please report this not only to DEV's but also MS emails
I know AOE3:DE had a bumpy start.. but the hell? I'd rather deal with viruses in my pc than experience this type of bug.

Yes we have aoe3 CC games so for now we're not gonna touch DE until we're certain this problem is fixed!

Of course it is. I guess the situation is complicated for the Microsoft though, maybe they wanted to ask their lawyers what to do first.

If I am understanding the situation correctly. The files in User directly are getting deleted. Which includes desktop, documents, downloads, and other library folders. If so, then this is not the first time Microsoft botched an update.

Around 1 year back there was an update to windows 10, which deleted user data in same way. Since then I've postponed installing any windows update many months to be sure. And moved all my library folders to D drive. Only few files are stored temporarily on desktop. Otherwise none of my personal data or files are on C anymore. Only installed programs or games and their data.

It hurts the trust on the game and company. I will be vary of any updates in MS game from now.

Its not only the "C:\Users\" folder, others repertories can be impacted as well.

Btw, since i used a software disk analysis of my SSD right after it happened to me, who detect (and can recover if you pay...) deleted data (cause they still persist on disk as long as you dont overwrite with new programs) i have all proofs.

For exemple steam in program file got entirely stomped :



And all the games like aoe3DE :


And when you think the "Art" Folder survived it, well not the files inside it :


And this for a lot of files including, c:users, program files, windows folder etc...
