In your aoe3:DE config folder in My Documents, there is a Starup folder with a file named persistenty.cfg, containing two lines of text:
RoughenSettings-pos "XXX XXX XXXX XXX"
BrushMaskDialog-pos "X X XXX XXXX"
(Insert random number instead of X).
Anyone know what this is for ??
Does anyone know what the stuff in the persistency.cfg does??
Re: Does anyone know what the stuff in the persistency.cfg does??
I don't know what it is, but if you're looking at \Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Startup, then that's not DE but legacy TAD. Files for DE should be in \Users\<name>\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\<id>\Startup.
I see the same file you describe in my TAD folder but I don't have it in my DE folder.

But that is DE, not legacy what I was looking at.Thrar wrote:I don't know what it is, but if you're looking at \Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Startup, then that's not DE but legacy TAD. Files for DE should be in \Users\<name>\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\<id>\Startup.

Both games config files are located in My Documents.
Legacy is in the Document folder, under My Games. DE is in the Games folder. But both have My Documents as the parent folder (the ones where Documents, Music, Video, etc. are all sitting).
Re: Does anyone know what the stuff in the persistency.cfg does??
DE is not in mydocuments for me. Maybe it's because of the steam version
Re: Does anyone know what the stuff in the persistency.cfg does??
I am also using the Steam version.Garja wrote:DE is not in mydocuments for me. Maybe it's because of the steam version
Maybe this is just a language barrier? 'My Documents' to me is the whole thing, not just the folder with all text and document files.
Or is what I called labeled as "My Files"?

Good, now that we got this out of the way, I still wonder what these settings doGarja wrote:user folder
I guess this is something that should be asked in the official forums, hoping that a dev sees it and is nice enough to reply...

@aaryngend the game has literally hundreds of config options, for all kinds of things. Many of them no longer do anything, or no one knows what they do.
These two sound related to Scenario Editor UI.
