all aoe3 files gone after recent update

im on ubuntu, since de release. took all other updates and have usa dlc as well. never any issues until now. took update powered off and went to work. when i returned to play. i get an install window on steam taskbar. within steam i get install button. any aoe3 and ao3 de files are no longer found within my steam folder. any suggestions besides the obvious redownload? data is not free and 40g is a day and a half of dl time for me. if anything would like to avoid a future occurance of this situation. thx.

Anyway. So I went to redownload and somehow the files were recovered. Took about 5 mins. And I'm able to play again

File corruption is a common steam issue, it happens more often to games that are bigger. I had it happen to GTAV installation, went the same way you described. My sister also had this in Fortnite. Each of these games is 40 gigs afaik

So I went to redownload and literally took 5 mins. Not sure exactly what was downloaded, but I'm able to enter the game now. Now I'm facing the Linux/proton users map issue with the new dlc. The new maps are encrypted and unreadable. Anyhow, missing files no longer seems to be an issue.
