I could only see that last game but it was really epic. Well played by both players.
ESOC : came for the game, stayed for the drama.

GGs wp.

I am a bit curious what the game plan was for Kaiser in the last game, Fre vs Brits. We've seen a lot of musk age2 into FI from Fre vs Brits recently, but here Kaiser went straight FF without musks into 2 TC? Were the 2 TCs planned or was it an adaptation from the originally planned FI? And why no musks age2, as France normally does (funnily, if Sam hadn't gone huss opening, the straight FF would probably have worked)?

Well I threw both the dutch mirror (losing 5v and my huss after cleaning up all his huss) and the fr mirror (1 vil ahead and forced useless musks + some idle time, then try to go in vs 10 goons with only 3 cuirs, instead of getting skirms...). I can't seem to manage to keep my advantage anymore in tourneys, just impatient and poor decision making overall. Sad

Anyway wp @samwise12, you played well, I didn't deserve to win the series with this shitty gameplay

Going musks vs brits on that map doesn't achieve anything, and I think Sam would have expected the indus anyway. On my end I didn't expect a huss start because it's kinda just shit on Florida vs France. Vs huss start you can just go bot musk semi into 2 falcs + cuirs and sort of right click, because they don't have their own musks to defend. But for some reason I only scouted the middle map, wanting to make sure I could FF as he didn't have a FB, and missed the in base stable.
Because on Florida you can get both market and TP and be up early, + grab nice treasures, you get a really quick FF (sometimes sub 7 mins) without even shipping coin. The idea was to drop a TC upon age up from 700w because it's just good if you get away with it, and you usually do get away with it when you're up so quick. Sadly I didn't drop the TC in the swamps on the left of the map like I wanted to, so the huss unfortunately found my explo, which somewhat ruined the plan. It forced me to ship 5 goons instead of 1000w like I wanted, to get my infrastructure up, so the follow up was awkward. Pretty sure with TC going up freely and 1000w first card I would have been pretty far ahead.

@Kaiserklein thanks for the explanation. It was still wp I think.

IMO you shouldn't beat yourself up about it, when the skill level is overall so high, then one single bad situation (like losing the vills in the Dutch game) can decide the game (ofc you know that, but I'm just emphasising that the game can still be 95-99 % well played).

The Fre mirror and Fre vs. Brit were also all really close.
