I remember I had no idea there existed a counter system in this game until I was like PR12 on nilla.

My first multiplayer game was with Goodspeed. He was supposedly one of the best players at the time, whereas I had only the touchpad that came with the laptop (no mouse) and almost no knowledge of the game, and I still won. It was pretty embarrassing.

I used to play only China in my first online games. I was such noob who sent 300 food and rushed with 8 bows and 9 pikes old han spam and my noob enemies "china is fakin op".

Regarding that topic... When I first started playing, I always played Spain, because thats the default civ, and I didnt know how to build banks or how to train Coureurs... It was so funny, because i looked like everywhere, where i could find these things, but not in the new Civs

I remember playing vs AI in single player 100% germans.
I never knew where my enemy spawns so I just resigned and loaded the game again.
Aswell as playing only spain cause I didn't know where to change civs.
I still know my first online game. I played on a friends' account and moved all my vills to his base gathering on his mills/plantations. Bad yemshi...
I played like 4 years only singleplayer cause I had no internet and when I came to ESO I went like PR13 in 4games or so. At some point I made my yemshi account.
Or when I felt superpro when I killed the 100% Hero HP treas or so in Age I.
What else...
I never understood why I always spawned in blue when I took green.
