You didn't read. You are wasting 100 export to ally with ports just to miss/skip a good otto vill or french crate timing while having to save for 400export if you stay on port.

If you're gonna slow yourself down by dropping a 200w building in age 1, build a TP it's much better

If you are going to do it I'd reccomend a semi water map like hudson/manchuria for the 3 boats and including intervention for 11 bows (think its 11?). I tried it a number of times before but only on hudson and mostly in the mirror. It's not great but not completely bad and a lot of fun. The 3 boats is what makes it kinda viable-ish so I would not do it on a land map.

It's eleven, yes. And those are completely underrated, especially as japan. People keep sending 9 unupped yumi instead of 11 upgraded half-archer, half musk units. (That is if you chose to have that card in deck which is questionable in itself; it should only be used for club/yumi comp).

I mean, 16 range is pretty meh in Fortress. I think unless you’re holding some kind of Colonial timing 9 Yumi is just better.

Though personally as Japan I too prefer to have an economic upgrade instead of Intervention since I already have essentially 8 military shipments in Fortress.

It costs 4K food for all three age ups to get Industrial, so you save 600 food. If you go with a TP instead you get more xp and the value of xp is far higher when you do FI.
