Re: 2v2 Hidden TR Tournament Qualifiers: Results
welcome back gentlemen to Cometk's UNBIASED predictions
As the pre-eminent prognosticator of this website and a former Treaty main, it's almost my duty to bless this tournament with some predicts. I'd have liked to enjoyed a longer vacation but Corona means I have more free time than I wish to have, so I may as well make use of my encyclopaedic knowledge of this community and mastery of the English language to grace the peons once more.
I'll say this Qualifiers is a lot cooler than I expected. The Treaty community is actually pretty exciting right now, with a mix of current-generation pro and mid-level players, old names coming back because of Corona, and high-level supremacy players dipping their toes into the scene all active at the same time. I'm not sure how entertaining the Hidden Cup 2v2 portion will be but I'm enjoying the qualifiers and revived community atm.
Semifinals
danielek vs foire421 | Daniel has been impressing me with his all-around performances lately but he dropped a game to a crusty as fuck Gichtenlord in Round 2 LOOOOL has Gichten even touched a computer since the last treaty tournament???? Even though foire is a Port main, he is much more proven than daniel is in Treaty and is a heat deathmatch player too. Foire beat Hazza in the last round, and daniel is like a strictly inferior Hazza, so solid edge to foire here.
Dante___ vs voltigeur_ | No clue who this voltigeur clown is. He somehow managed to beat Mongo last round, and even though I respect his style, Mongo has somewhat of an inconsistent record which more tells me more that he was on a downbeat than that this voltigeur kid is any good. Georgie has been heat, and even after several years crust I have the confidence in him to return to form and dirt-nap this nobody.
LB Round 2
Mongobillione vs fregattenschreck | I have not once seen or heard of this forgottenshrek guy so he's certainly unviable. Still, Mongobillione isn't a stranger to losing to randoms as evidenced by the last round, and apparently it took daniel 20 minutes to defeat shrek in their Round 1 games. That's not enough to fool me into thinking this joker is viable though.
bbtheboss vs AJIV | AJIV has come back after a hiatus of maybe 4 years. I've never respected his mechanics and I have a deep-seated dislike of his playstyle, but he wins games in decent fashion. That didn't stop him from getting dunked on by foire in Round 1, in what was admittedly the most stacked R1 matchup. AJIV proceeded to get clowned by Torie in the his first Lower Bracket match and only narrowly managed a 2-1 victory there. If I'm remembering right bbtheboss is some mid-level French community player, who doesn't play anything besides Ports. Anybody who is a Port main is garbage so AJIV takes the bold.
Hazza54321 vs the_production | Never heard of the_production, and he lost to bbtheboss R1. He's got a cool name but c'mon boys lol
Gichtenlord vs Idriss24 | I just realized Gich was slotted as the seed 1 player in this qualifiers LOOOOOOOL who thought this rusty ass goon would be any good in 2020? Still, he's got to be better than Idriss, a Port player with absolutely zero competitive credits to his name.

Apparently dante__ dropped out. voltigeur_ gets the bye to the qualification match, and the player that would have faced the loser of dante__/voltigeur_ in LB round 4 will get a bye there also.

I dont really mind that I lost, but that map is just so atrocious if someone goes for running. It's no fun at all.
I couldnt bother to play 2 more times on it even if I might have won.
