Hello, does someone know how steam calculate the number of users in a game? (and so for AOE 3 DE)
because I don't get it, they say the current number of user for aoe 3 DE is 10 030 (when i wrote this)
https://steamdb.info/app/933110/graphs/
but they also they the number of user for Legacy aoe3 is 1 763, while they are only 500 in reality
https://steamdb.info/app/105450/graphs/
so i guess there is 2 options : the 2 number (for legacy and DE) are wrong, or there is an explanation that i don't have and you can maybe explain

Re: Steam Data
Single player.
Re: Steam Data
so single player (and maybe LAN) represent more than 2/3 of the population ?
Re: Steam Data
Yup. Multiplayer is just a fraction of people who play any aoe game.
Re: Steam Data
People are always confused about the low steam player number of age. Most people don't play the game with steam that's why the numbers are lower.ǝɯɐuɹǝsn wrote:Hello, does someone know how steam calculate the number of users in a game? (and so for AOE 3 DE)

Re: Steam Data
There's also a portion of players playing on CD instead of Steam, so not everyone online on ESO may show up in Steamdb.
I personally never use Steam to launch AoE3:RE, I always use the EP launcher or a separate launcher for cursorlock, so I never show online on Steam.
