Map Veto on quicksearch

Hello everyone, I've heard from guys who played AoE2 (namely @lemmings121 ) and they've told me they have a map ban system which allows you to veto maps which you really don't want to play.
Besides that they allow you to have 1 preferred map which will be played in case you get matched with someone that has chosen the same

I think AoE3 qs would benefit a lot from such an option, since we have problems in balance regarding certain civs on specific maps. For example If I'm playing a civ like dutch I'd be inclined to not play on a High TP count map. Whereas if I'm playing ottomans I'd avoid playing on maps with no TP. I could go on with the examples but I think this is enough to get the gist of it.

With this option in play we could maybe veto something like 3 maps from the QS map pool and avoid certain maps that are simple too shity for the civs we are playing and would make for more enjoyable gameplay.

So, what do you guys think about it? Is there something I didn't take into consideration? Do you think this would be a good idea as well? :chinese:

imo much better than 3de
also much smaller ranked map pool that's changed monthly iirc (voted on by the players)

I would love this. Make a smaller map pool, 8-10 maps and give 3-4 vetoes. This way you can have serious variety and not get stuck playing maps you don't like.

There was clearly no budget for this. Maybe in a year or two. 2DE's interface is still getting updates too.

Not sure if troll or not. But this would of course be implemented after solving directory deleting patches

I'm also interested in the answer to this. Is this still a problem if you are getting matched against 20+ possible players?

Hmm nvm, thought that by vetoing maps you would reduce the number of games you can be matched with.
Anyway would still be good to have big player base for map representation. As fair as it is, having a 10 map pool and only playing the same 5-6 would be meh.

Nothing prohibits you to not veto any map... I don't understand...
Oh and you can change the maps you veto based on the civ you are playing too, which is nice.
Sc2 has that and their map pool is not that big each season

Not trolling? We suggested this in the closed beta too, among other things. It's clear there was no budget for that. We can see features like these in the far future perhaps if the game does well.
