1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 6 points
3rd place: 3 points
4th place: 1 points

GAMEPLAY RULES

The goal for our ruleset is to have the game won over the hill, not over someone’s base. Should there be disputes or concerns in a game, let the administrators know, and the game will be looked at and dealt with accordingly.

-All games will be played on Age of Empires 3 DE

-All players involved in the tourney must sign up on the ESOC forums, and join the discord.

-Due to the limitations of Age 3 DE, games cannot be casted live. Therefore, all games must be recorded and submitted to the mods to be casted later. The player who wins each game is responsible for uploading the files according to this format: Game1.age3Yrec, Game2.age3Yrec, etc. The files must be uploaded to the Gameplay Recordings channel in the tourney discord. Players will be told which game # they are playing in advance so there is no confusion.

-If a player drops or loses connection within the first 30 seconds of the game, the game will be rehosted. If a player drops after the first 30 seconds, the game will continue without them and they will keep any points they earned during the time they were in the game.

-If any player must drop out of the tourney before the first games are played, they must let one of the moderators know, and the next player who is waitlisted may sub for the player who dropped out. After the first game is played, no one may sub for any players dropped or disqualified.

Rules for teaming and raiding: Raiding and teaming is allowed, with certain caveats. Attacking players’ original town center is off limits. However, other buildings such as forward bases, second/third TCs, and villagers are fair game.

To help make the rules more clear, here are some examples of good/allowed teaming:
-Player 1 holds the hill, players 2 and 3 work together to kick player 1 off the hill.
-Player 3 builds a forward base next to the hill, players 2 and 4 burn down said forward base.
-Players 4 and 5 wait until player 1 is on the hill to attack the hill.

Examples of bad teaming:
-Players 1 and 2 attack player 3’s base, rather than fight over the hill.
-Player 1 and 2 consistently coordinate to draw other players off the hill where one player attacks their base, and the other attacks the hill simultaneously.
-This is a viable strat but will be considered bad teaming and subject to disqualification if it occurs from the same two players multiple times.

-If bad teaming occurs even once, it can ruin a player’s chances in the tournament. Therefore, if we find that players are breaking the rules, they will be disqualified.

-If any player feels they have been the target of unfair teaming, they can appeal to the mods on the discord server in the disputes channel.

-If it is discovered that any player has multiple accounts signed up for the tourney, or is sharing accounts with another player, all parties involved will be immediately disqualified.

-If someone is disqualified from the tournament, their points will be nullified and the game in which the player is disqualified will be replayed without the disqualified player.

- At our discretion, we will identify other forms of cheating/ sabotage should they arise.

Tournament Sign Up

-Upon signing up for the tournament, you are declaring that you will be available between 3pm and 11pm GMT on March 6 and 7, as well as 3pm to 10pm GMT on March 14, should you advance to the Finals stage. Also, you are declaring that you have read and agreed to the rules of the tournament. Failing to read the rules is not an acceptable excuse for breaking the rules.

-To sign up for the tournament, join the discord server:

https://discord.gg/rmyTV2B6G9

In the role selection bot, select the trophy emoji, and that will grant you access to the King of the Hill Tournament category. The first 30 people to be in the King of the Hill Tournament category will be the lucky contestants in the tournament. Anybody after the first 30 people will automatically be placed on the tournament waitlist should someone drop out. You will be contacted if a slot is freed up for you to join.
