I think I'm seeing 80+% of the French picks lose in this tournament, at least in the pro division. Also in general, they're being picked somewhat lesser. Is this just a coincidence or are there good reasons for this?

france is a comfort pick when you don't know what else to pick. it gives you a fighting chance at the very least

It's pretty much consensus for a good while now that the French are not a top civ anymore like they pretty much have always been. They are only decent now.
