its true in the short run, but in the long run i think having a well designed multiplayer system that will give the game longevity to attract people to buy the game 10-15 years from now will ultimately pay off more. but I doubt any of the devs are thinking that way.

why not? its been 16+ years since the game came out and people are still buying it

not 15 years ofc but it does feel like devs threw everything they had in the game because "who cares there is gonna be aoe4 soon", making for a very confusing and not so enjoyable playing experience

This was the main reason imo aoe3 was never as popular as aoe2 (along with the lag). Just too many asymmetric civs, and with the home city shipments (although it's a good thing once u understand it) created more confusion.

Ur probably getting a taste in terms of confusion a lot of other new players felt when they jumped into aoe3 for first time, and the snowball effect is large in aoe3, so u can get overwhelmed quickly once u don't know certain unit's or BO from ur opponent....which leaves a bad taste

I think the game is fine too. Its now at a state where its a big upgrade to legacy (outside of some missing UI options and team games is a bit meh).

There's just moments where I go wtf is that BO or wtf is that unit. I'm a lot older now so less time to invest learning

AoE4 doesn’t suffer from aging lag but 3de suffers from aging lag greatly. AoE4 runs more smoothly than 3de. AoE3 is made wrongly and 3de too. It is a bad game from the start. Nothing will be fixed.

The online experience still feels very empty and lonely. Honestly, ESO was much, much better (apart from its bugs).

- Friendlist should always be on front.
- Online players in friendlist should be on top.
- You should be able to browse games or other things while waiting in quick search.
- Why can't you see someone's rank when starting a game?

- Aizamk's observer UI should be built-in.

Btw, we all write some good feedback in this thread, but can anybody make sure the devs see this? Otherwise, this is pretty much a lost effort.
