Where does India put its refugees?

Re: European politics
In India? We don't promise to bring in refugees and then throw them in some backwater country. We also don't take 5+ years to process them.

Re: European politics
It's not too difficult to deal with refugees if no-one wants to come. Latvians know this.

Re: European politics
Well many people from neighbouring countries want to come here though. India probably has one if the largest illegal immigrant population

Re: European politics
That's the secret ingredient. Make your country such a shithole, nobody wants to migrate here.
I drove yesterday to a small city to pick up some fam whose car broke down. It's like 50km away from my city. That city looked like Mariupol except it hasn't been bombed recently.
Those guys really know how to keep immigrants out.

Latvia is like one of the most developed Russian territory.

Re: European politics
Rly makes you think. When they were under Russian rule, the country looked just like just another Soviet backwater. Once it broke away from Russian rule, they became one of the fastest growing Eastern Euro economies.
And you still wonder why everyone who ever was under Russian influence wants to just gtfo. Including their own people who migrate out of Russia in droves.
And despite all this, Russia is still very eager to spread its awesome and notoriously efficient system outwards. For what purpose? Nobody wants it, including Russians themselves.

Re: European politics
Well, when the entire western world throws money at you just to stick it up to Russia. Nigeria, Bangladesh, Chile are the real growth stories. Even China has had money thrown at her. But China is more complicated. Latvia? EU and US just throwing money. It isn't really efficient.

Re: European politics
Actually let me show you a concrete example.
Vyborg is a city that belonged to Finland until 1944 when the USSR invaded Karelia and occupied it. Since 1944, Vyborg has been under Russian rule.
This is how Vyborg looked like before 1944, when it was under Finland's administration:
This is how Vyborg looks today, after 78 years of Russian rule:

Yeah but Russia is one of the richest countries in earth resources. How do you get so many starting crates as a civ and still manage to fuck it up.princeofcarthage wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 14:22Well, when the entire western world throws money at you just to stick it up to Russia. Re: European politics
Well starting location is also important. History has continuously fucked Russia. And being home to some of the worst rulers in history hasn't helped either. While WW2 provided the needed industrial boom but they couldn't really continue that post war. They couldn't also develop local products and markets. I mean if you look at China, maybe in core technologies they lack behind US but they have companies which rival US companies in end products. You could also look at Japan. A strong local market is necessary for growth. Russia has depended on raw resource exports for too long. You can't grow on that. I mean apart from military technologies and maybe some medical advancements what have you heard that Russia did? Also when USSR broke up some of the most developed and advanced industries went to Ukraine and Baltic states. Russia was probably the biggest loser of USSR breaking up.

Re: European politics
You know how societies sometimes stand at crossroads and have to decide which way to go and change their country? Russia repeatedly went the really fucked up way.
Russia, looking at the worst possible decisions one can take

Re: European politics
Sounds like Germany tbh. Declaring war on USSR was really fucked up. In all likelihood if not for the war on USSR(maybe just the really stupid war decisions against USSR) and maybe the alliance with Japan (though this is not definitive), Germany would have ruled from Atlantic to Poland today along with parts of Africa.

lol. They both were preparing for war, it's just that Germany got there first.princeofcarthage wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 15:01Sounds like Germany tbh. Declaring war on USSR was really fucked up. Re: European politics
USSR was eventually preparing for a confrontation or predicted that it was inevitable. But the invasion caught them by surprise. In fact UK repeatedly warned USSR that Germany will invade but those warnings and concerns weren't taken seriously. We all know US and China are eventually headed towards war but that was like China declaring war on US in 2022.harcha wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 15:20lol. Re: European politics
Your implication that they were both preparing for war in immediate future is wrong. The assumption on both sides that war was inevitable doesn't necessarily mean that it would have panned out soon. The war may have never come to pass depending on few things. It is presumed that war between US and China is inevitable. US prepares for war. China is preparing. It doesn't mean it has to actually happen.

You claimed this but then failed to substantiate it.princeofcarthage wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 18:22Your implication that they were both preparing for war in immediate future is wrong.
This doesn't substantiate your claim, instead it goes against it by acknowledging that both sides expected war.princeofcarthage wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 18:22The assumption on both sides that war was inevitable doesn't necessarily mean that it would have panned out soon.
