Russia 17v ATP strat

With the average treasures you can get away with a market + chop 120w, or alternatively chop 240w, and age 17v basically idleless. So you can go ATP first card and start dropping TP(s) before clicking up, then add more while aging. For extra greed it's possible to ship the wood trickle in transition too.
After that you can 700g 700w ff at a good time with a shipment ready, or just ship crates for a colonial timing, possibly with stagecoach.

I used to just chop for TP and still send the wood trickle as first card. Then drop 2nd TP in transition and either send eco theory or save the shipment. It's about the same as ATP, but with 2.5 more vills and weaker TPs.
Because of the blockhouse in transition and 5 cossack as first age2 card you should be able to hold the TP anyway vs the average-aggressive civ.

I do that kind of build too, and it's not the same because here I get a market as well, and drop more than 2 TPs, and yeah they're harder to siege but also cheaper to replace. It makes any stagecoach build much more viable than with regular TPs. Eco theory will scale better eventually but it takes quite long.

Well you're obviously not gonna go ATP on a map where you don't even have 3 TPs, so that's a non issue

Ye but i mean like, do you actually get it often? Most maps have 3- TPs and usually the third one it's already taken. This is why I kinda never considered ATP as Russia unless it's huge trade route map.
I didn't watch the rec, how did you get a 3rd TP on Siberia vs Germans?

Quite a lot of maps have enough TPs for this.
In this game his TP was late, but again I could have also just chopped 240w in age 1 for 2 TPs (instead of market) and I think I can drop the 3rd one close to my base before he does

Anyway it's not like it's meant to be the go to strat, it's just good (or sometimes better than bot russia) on some maps and in some MUs

Ye I would definetely chop straight for 2 tps. The problem I have with ATP is that you have to wait for the card to drop TPs and then it's hard on most maps vs most civs to get a 3rd TP. Also it takes basically only 3 minutes for the trickle to break even with the 240w of ATP (a bit less than 5min for 360w) so in the end it's not even that much of a better early boost.
I'd personally only use ATP on a 4+ TP map and only vs civs that don't have good "ATP strats" themselves. Anyway, 17v age up with Russia are indeed underrated.

Yeah I mean the point was just to show how the build is done. It wasn't about this map and MU
