Take into account the history of Biden and Putin. Who stands to gain most from this war? History shows US is definitely capable of doing this. And if it were, obviously there will be public evidence or acceptance until 50 years from now on. Unless Putin's aim is of a larger war with NATO and ending US influence on continental Europe, there is no scenario in which west responds and Putin still comes out on top. And he fully expected west to respond. There is a very clear and real possibility that US manipulated events in a way that led to this war. It might not even be just Biden doing. There is a strong chance that powerful people and organizations/lobbies might have pulled strings from afar.

I will take that as a compliment considering most intellectuals were called crazy at some point.harcha wrote: ↑23 May 2022, 12:23the ramblings of a crazy personprinceofcarthage wrote: ↑12 May 2022, 00:33He and Ukraine both got played by US and to a lesser extent by UK. You know who were also called crazy frequently? Crazy people.princeofcarthage wrote: ↑23 May 2022, 13:23I will take that as a compliment considering most intellectuals were called crazy at some point.
Whatever is written above: this is no financial advice.

Re: US Politics Megathread
Much more frequently, too. Statistically if someone calls you crazy, you are overwhelmingly more likely to have a mental disorder than to be an intellectual.
Re: US Politics Megathread
It's not just that. Reacting by taking it as a compliment when someone calls you crazy and comparing oneself with a small number of geniuses are signs of a mental disorder by themselves. The corresponding individual is likely to have lost the ability to evaluate the appropriateness of his/her behavior and begins to vastly overestimate his/her own capabilities.

And how would you react to that. I understand not reacting is an option but say you had to react. Wouldn't you also agree that when someone fails to understand the difference between obvious sarcasm or a joke and a reply intended for discourse or debate or argument then those people are likely to be lacking normal cognitive abilities/cognition?duckzilla wrote: ↑23 May 2022, 14:25It's not just that. It's going to be a very violent summer (this is a prediction not a threat)

Re: US Politics Megathread
i think the reality is that this American ritual child sacrifice gets men in black’d from public consciousness in 2 weeks time and the Overton window continues moving right
Re: US Politics Megathread
It's also possible for the Overton window to move left while reality keeps moving right.
Like what people believe, what they support, what's being talked about in the media, the superstructure, the DC elites could keep pushing neolibrul stuff, while the base has become disconnected from that and is moving in a more violent direction.
But at this point left and right have shapeshifted so much they look like complete opposites of their originals.
Like the right used to represent the elites in the original meaning, but now the media, the elites mostly push progressive neoliberal talking points. And most elites today are leftwing.
So the right in the West has sought refuge in "populism", basically identifying with "the forgotten ones", blue-collar classes etc. These labels have mutated beyond recognition.

Can you define what you mean by "elite"Dolan wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 05:00It's also possible for the Overton window to move left while reality keeps moving right.

It's not that controversial a term. It's usually that part of society that steers things, whether it's in politics, business, media, academiafightinfrenchman wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 05:29Can you define what you mean by "elite"Dolan wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 05:00It's also possible for the Overton window to move left while reality keeps moving right.
