This Sunday, players Shake and ErwTann will pioneer a brand-new meta in history’s first-ever No Deck Duel.

The rules are simple. A Best of 5, with no shipments, cards, or decks allowed. The players are ready, the civs and maps have been selected, and the casters are on the edge of their seats.
All we need is you!

@Widgie nice one, Ive thought this idea a bit really. I think the game will be too slow and lacking too much tempo without anything else added. Can i suggest add a 15-20% handicap to give some momentum to play?

Games have already been played - we will see how it goes and if it needs to be changed in the future then it can be :)

its slow but faster than aoe2 i tried once or twice to play without deck (my opponent did the same) and of course you need to have the right civs, some civs benefit more than others while some are almost unplayable without decks.
Basically it's nice enough and makes everything less unbalanced but it's not aoe3

I don't know if it was a challenge or a tournament but there are still rec games where the best players of 2007 or 2008 (I don't remember which of the two dates it was) all had to play on a map with only 5 cards in the decks (the favorite choice it was russia and british)
