[SOLVED] ESO: Failed to create account

Hello everyone, I just bought Age of Empires® III (2007) on Steam today. (I am a big fan of AOE 3 French ٩(๑＞◡＜๑)۶

I heard that expansions (The Asian Dynasties and The WarChiefs) can't not create ESO account.
So I open the original AOE 3 (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin\age3.exe) by entering CD-Key.

But it still appearing "Failed to create account" message after I finished all fields.
If there is any solution please tell me. Thank you very much! m(_ _)m

I'm not sure how useful this will be, but here's an old thread with a similar problem, it might contain some helpful information: viewtopic.php?t=8882

From the thread it sounds like you might need to run your game as an administrator to create the account.

Tried changing the version manually but it did not seem to help. Aparently one of my friends have had this problem fixed, so I will ask him when possible.

Edit: He said he found a fix, but never actually tried it. It didn't work, so back to not knowing how to fix this. Hoo-ray.

Edit2: So, what I did was run Windows XP on a Virtualbox. After fixing so it could run the game it worked, so I made an account via that. Not the simplest way to fix a thing, but hey, it worked.

BTW, To use the XP mod (https://wiki.eso-community.net/XPMOD), I bought the second one Age of Empires® III (2007) on another Steam account.

And try it on Virtual Machine:

1. VirtualBox + Windows XP : Failed with lacking some Windows Updates.

2. VirtualBox + Windows 7 : Unable to initialize Direct3D.

3. VMware Workstation + Windows 7 : Game started successfully, but can't connect the ESO network.

So I gave up using virtual machines, by using two laptops, I successfully used the XP mod. (*/ω＼*)

I just fired up legacy (DE sucks) and the game runs way faster than real time. Not sure what's going on there.

Oh! Yes! In fact, I bought the Age of Empires® III (2007) & Definitive Edition Bundle twice.
Definitive Edition is a great game too, I love both of them ~~ (*´˘`*)♥
