Are you talking about ESO for the original 2007 version of the game? It was turned off in October: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app ... 1103076467

The best way to play online now is the definitive edition:

Yes, 2007 refers to the release date of the complete collection including Warchiefs and Asian Dynasties; the corresponding base game, which used the same ESO service, released in 2005. It may still be possible to play it online on using either GameRanger or Voobly, but even if it is I would expect the playerbase to be basically nonexistent.

The newer Definitive Edition launched in 2020 and is actively maintained. It looks like it's on sale right now for $6.99 on Steam (excluding DLC), which seems like a great deal as long as your PC can run it.

I am actually curious - does anyone know if the "Complete Collection" product, which included base game+Warchiefs+Asian Dynasties, actually release at the same time as Asian Dynasties in 2007? Or is referring to "Complete Collection (2007)" not really correct?

I remember buying TAD on release in 2007 or whenever, I don't think complete collection was immediately available but it was probably pretty closer thereafter.

I just hope DE is not going to implement all of the EP changes. Right now it is a big clusterfuck.

The playerbase on Gameranger is actually quite decent atm
