AOE III DESIGNER & BOARD GAME
Yo libs, check out Sandy Petersen on X if you like to hear background information about Age of Empires series development. He was part of the heart of the game you dream about at night. It's a chilled grandpa that created the game that you love. Tribute him respect if you want to.

Re: AOE III DESIGNER & BOARD GAME
I never knew there were any board games, but I do wonder how it plays out since AOE is so complex
My attentions have been to create my own game which was inspired when I was 16-18 and I didn't realize I would ever take it this far. Back then I imagined a table in a grid where players could have armies at either side and each could move so many squares, a lot like chess really. But now there is no grid to make it fluid, and what happens depends a lot on what players do more than a pure math based formula. And some economy elements that may be inspired by catan.
All set in 1/72 scale models.
It takes place in ancient times but I do have armies for medieval. and my big interest has been the maritime so I might as well share what I have started. I will make a post in the off topic section about it with more details and conversations, but I just wanted to share how I think AOE could be translated into a physical game for a night of fun.

Re: AOE III DESIGNER & BOARD GAME
Aspiring developers need to follow his insights since he provides valuable information in this field. The concept of transforming AOE into a physical board game appears genuinely promising since adapting its complex gameplay mechanics would be fascinating.
