After watching this I now think Dutch vs Japan is more fair MU, like 50-50 or 45-55 imo. Atleast way, way better than RE.

I used to think that skirm semi was best way to lose the MU on RE, but eventually it is now one of the stronger strats in EP

Well idk, I didn't try to colo but a 10-15skirm+8pikes semi would beat an ashi/nagi.
Anyway that's not the point. Japan is meant to be the most greedy civ with the best middle/late game and a weak early game.
Here dutch can just outboom and outscale jap.

You perhaps underestimate Japanese units. I also do not believe that match ups are ever so one-dimensional as one composition or unit set ALWAYS beating another.

No no. You got me wrong. I never meant the 6 bank FF.

I mean just go 4 bank FF and add 2 more banks in age 3 and you can just scale well vs whatever Japan does, like in the rec.

Greedy FF or semi FI with Japan should be the way to go (shrines on Tempo reforms can compete with 6 banks).
I hope we'll see this MU in the winter tournament.
