There is no perfect civ but on the FP I'd say ger even if their colonial is bad because they have a good eco, they can spam hard and you can t punish their age up.

Brits on eso maps. Normal maps Otto
Re: What's the best civilisation in aoe3 taking all aspects into consideration.
On the RE, is is almost certainly still Iroquois. It is pointless to take the late game into consideration in supremacy, since a well-played Iro isn't going to let anybody get there uninjured. In treaty, the best civ is France for a variety of reasons. Good eco (fur trade anyone?)+120 pop army+gendarmes+most cav upgrades+royal guard skirms+Gribeauval System+art training time=OPNESS.

China is best on Esoc patch. They beat all other civs if they play right and also happen to become unbeatable lategame with old han reforms.

Yeah because French can do sh*t vs Ports or Japan on Indonesia.
Re: What's the best civilisation in aoe3 taking all aspects into consideration.
French, Birts and Russia are meant to be the powerhouses of that era, so "everything considered" they're the best civs.
Asian civs were also made potentially strong in every stage of the game for gameplay reasons.

That idea seems to presume direct correlation between history and gameplay design.
By the way, is that you in the bunny suit, Garja!?

Russia can give France a run for their money in treaty. Particularly in team games, they make the best ally due to their great team cards. But both are pretty OP

I'll say French. No real weakness, deal well vs any MU.

Japan? Except for the early part of sup they rock. Great at nr10,20 and 40, teamgames and also really decent in 1v1, lategame and on water maps. They also have some of the best units in the game.

Are you talking treaty? If so, Brits aren't on the list.

I think brits are top tier for treaty, but its overall, I guess i do give a lot of prominence to civs for late game since I think we are basically comparing civs at overall strengths and weaknesses. Brits have great early and late game eco with cow booming and great units and 2 free rockets. not really any weakness but does not have absurdly Op units like france with 120 mil pop and faster train art. Russia just has great map control and diverse way to play.

Although india is my favorite civ I dont think I can call it the best. has no reliable way to get cannons, and mahouts have bad pathing issues, siege eles very vulnerable to everything, and suffer greatly in choke hold situations. and no spammable units can leave them vulnerable to being overrun. They area really fun civ to play with very interesting units. they have good map control with fast barracks building, OP tigers, strong units overall, URUMI! and a great Eco. They are a tougher civ to play well. I didn't really think their navy is OP, doesnt get full amdirality. best thing is extra range on them

I think this would be French. Not very hard to play, can adapt in most situations, not (totally) TP dependent, not dependent on 1 resource. Good early game eco, average midgame play, good lategame. Sea is not great. Units are good, cards are okay/good, extra scout is nice, coureurs are good. They are just very playable.

Yes but that doesn't make them top tier. Brit gets devoured by Japan and China.
