Announcing Treaty Titans Invitational - March 25th and 26th
Treaty Titans Invitational
Organized by Cometk and _PI
Hosted on twitch.tv/esoctv
Begins at 17:30 GMT on Friday, March 25th
Hey everyone! In anticipation for an upcoming Treaty Cup, I'm proud to announce the Treaty Titans Invitational! What we will have is some of the strongest AoE3 Treaty players squaring off in a round-robin style tournament. Friday night will feature a series of four head-to-head matches between our competitors. Depending on the results from the previous day, deciding matches will be played before a grueling Best of 3 Finals showdown at 18:00 GMT on Saturday, March 26th.
However, there are some surprises. The tournament, as well as the forthcoming Treaty Cup, will be played on the Treaty Fan Patch! Players will have to divine an unsolved metagame if they want to have a chance at success. It will certainly be an educational watch to see the best-of-the-best in the Treaty community display their skills. See ya then!

Good to hear!
However, when is the TR patch gonna be released? The players who are testing the patch now, have an advantage of learning a new metagame already. Other players should get the patch asap to have a chance at success.

It's an invitational, so only the players who've been invited.

Very good question. Right now, part of the fun of the invitational will be that we can use it as a basis to make further tweaks before the Treaty Cup occurs later on. We will obviously want to release the Treaty Fan Patch with plenty of time in advance for players to start using it before we go forward with the Treaty Cup.
Right now, we don't really have a set-in-stone date for either, so hang tight and enjoy the invitational as a bit of a preview.

It's okay serg, they didn't choose us to give the other guys a chance and I approve of that.

The primary caster will be myself (_PI, Brett). We will likely try to have either Matt (Milky) or Tanner (charlemagen) commentating with me, but we may also contact others who are interested if the schedule conflicts for them.

The first three were decided fairly quickly (we felt Dick/Lukas/Gich are the top 3 players overall), and we were torn between yourself and Sabusa for the 4th slot. We could've coin-flipped in terms of deciding between you two.
The unfortunate reality of a limited participant invitational is that it's impossible to please everyone, you will inevitably leave someone out of an invitational who deserves to be there. That's why open tournaments are preferable, but they don't work well under time constraints.

I'm not sure how active the treaty community is but you can also consider having an 8-player tournament and extend the tournament to Sunday.

That would be a possibility, but the difficulty there is that some of the organizers would probably wind up being participants then (like Matt as an example). Plus for Matt/Tanner, their time zone (they're in New Zealand) don't sync up well for Sunday as it winds up being Monday for them.
