Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
imo France can't play very well on all matches...
#1 our goalkeeper is okayish but not top
#2 quite a few players make wrong choices sometimes: Pogba, Dembélé, Mbappé are very talented but sometimes they miss very good chances, so don't judge them only on their best performances
That being said I'm still convinced that the team can win the tournament but luck needs to be on our side (as it was against Germany in EURO 2016)

Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
Meh, I disagree with that. All teams have 'handicaps' in the form of players that aren't the very best of the best. France probably has the best team on paper. If the players play on their level they're one of the clear favorites. Yet, you always need some luck to win any tournament.

Nainggolan and Carrasco lol
EDIT: Carrasco is in nvm, so it's actually fine xD
Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
Leaving Nainggolan out is stupid. Belgium has good players but they've never really played well. It's always just mediocre.
Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
Germany not taking Sane to the world cup and instead taking Brandt/Reus. Really strange.

Right decision imo. Sane played very selfish and not really good in the national team. He is overrated anyways. I'm glad Löw noticed that.

Sane would be a super-sub instead of injury prone reus.i personally like reus more but the guy is made of glass

So either a bench player (Brandt) or one of the star players of the champion of the toughest competition there is? He might be 'overrated' but Sane can never be worse than Brandt. I think I might prefer him over Reus anyways, but you need 2 players for each position generally so you can just take Sane and Reus to the WC.
Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
That's not only about the player but about the team aswell : Idk how is the situation for Sane but France had a lot of success playing without Cantona who was one of the best player of the world in the past. Benzema and Rabiot aren't in the team for the same kind of reason.

Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
France 1-1 USA has shown interesting points: Lloris disappointing as always, Hernandez and Pavard are clearly better than Mendy and Sidibé but I doubt Deschamps will have the balls to pick those as first choices , we still need to find a logic in attack... things change every match though, let's wait and hope
Two teams which failed their last world cup will be interesting to look at imo: Uruguay and England seem hard to beat.

Germany 2-1 Saudi-Arabia
Painful to watch. The first half was roughly ok, but in the second half the team seemed as if they were complete strangers to one another. In the final minutes Saudi-Arabia was closer to a tie than Germany was to a 3-1. At least Neuer seemed fit and did a good job.
From what I've seen, I expect France and Brazil to meet each other in the semi-finals. Whoever wins that match, will win the world cup as well.

As the sign says, that is the outright winner market for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Brazil is the favorite. Nigeria is not.
Re: Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread
But what do the numbers show? And this "Back all/Lay all"? I feel there is a lot of information provided by the table, but I do not really get it
Germany ranks higher than expected. Subjectively, I would put them in fourth place, after Brazil/France/Spain.

For instance, the numbers show that the market gives Brazil about a 1/5.5 chance of winning the tournament.

I don't see Neymar, Coutinho, Jesus scoring less than 9 goals a game.
