My theory about Toon World
Look, I know I've made a lot of jokes about Yu-Gi-Oh in the past few months on the forums and in real life for the unfortunate souls who had to interact with me at the LAN. But I need to seriously talk about how I think I live in Toon World now.
The past few years, starting around the end of 2016 really, have felt "weird." Likes things happened that made no sense. But things really came to a head in June of 2018, when "the incident" took place, which totally fucked up my perception of reality and how others view the world around them.
After that happened, in Wildwood, I realized that the world isn't as sane as I used to think it was. Basically the entire fabric of reality started to tear around me. My brain broke in a very specific way that I am unable to recover from. And the next time I decided to head down to Wildwood, things got even worse. My brain became a disgusting, rotting place where I could only think about things like Superdreadnaught Rail Cannon Gustav Max, sand in teeth, the shapes in the library, and things like that.
And since then, things have somehow gotten even worse. The ESOC Discord Off-topic section has become a host of total nonsense that makes me question what is happening in my own shitty mind. I discovered the r/retconned subreddit which makes me confused about the sky above me.
Basically, I think since June 2018 I've been living in Toon World. I don't know how to get out of it, but when I bring it up people act like it's some kind of joke, when in reality I'm freaking out about living in this hellscape. I just want my normal life back, but I'm forced to suffer the weirdness of thinking about Toon Summoned Skull in my salad while climbing on shapes in my elementary school library. I used to be a normal person but that's all over now.
Somebody fix this.

This is quite possible. Any suggestions on how to revert back to the original one?

It's like joining x666, there is no way back. Good news is that you still live your "normal life" you just don't experience it.

You lose 1000 life points when you're in it.

There's simply no way this isn't Toon World. People wouldn't be acting the way they are if we were still in the original good world

Understanding and accepting that most people simply think differently than you and don't have the same priorities might help you realize that people aren't necessarily insane, just different. Also a little insane sometimes, but always assume different first. Actively search for reasons why they may see things differently than you, and you might end up understanding them. You might be too quick to label people as weird or crazy, and your worldview is getting jaded as a result.
The other day I had a discussion with a colleague about climate change. He didn't much care about it, so naturally I assumed this was because he didn't know how bad the situation was since most people don't. But actually the reason was that he didn't care. Basically his entire argument was "so what? It will fix overpopulation. Survival of the fittest". And with that mindset I could understand his point of view. Why would he be contributing to reducing the issue if he lacks empathy towards the less fortunate, who will be disproportionally affected by it? It's disgustingly selfish, but understandable. So he's not crazy, just different. And maybe a little bit in denial about how much a potentially collapsing economy could affect him and the baby he has on the way, but that's beside the point.
Anyway, losing faith in humanity is part of growing up. People are generally dumb and selfish and our problems are not going to get fixed. Accept this ASAP, so that people may surprise you positively instead of negatively.

You lose your soul but are invited to sit at the high table at secret meetings.
That's all I can say for now.

New factions within ESOC must first be registered with ESOC Council before receiving official recognition

If your point is that religion is understandable, I agree. But personally I've never had difficulty accepting the way things are without having to fall back on higher powers. And regardless, the fact that religion helps people feel better about themselves and the world doesn't change that it's a load of crap.

There are many clear and compelling arguments that God exists and that the holy scriptures are true (as metaphorical representations of religious facts). Even if you disagree that doesn't make them a load of crap!
Re: My theory about Toon World
Did I say that specifically my disagreement is what makes them loads of crap?
Seriously, a horse's poop is more morally impressive than the bible.

Is it insane to believe that anything we do is useless anyway in the fight against climate change? Right now, we are activating hundreds of irreversible positive feedback loops that we have no knowledge about. A large portion of the Amazone is on fire as we speak while the president of its lands has proclaimed climate change an invention by corrupt NGOs. I don't wish death upon the less favorable humans in the fight against climate change, but I can understand the mindset of your colleague. The wealthy in power have shown that they are not planning on combating climate change before it's too late and they're in a grave. No one on this forum will be alive in thirty years and the damage caused before my birth is massive on an unprecedented scale. Why should I, as a peasant, care about contributing towards anything my government failed to do decades before now?
