Your favourite breakfast cereals
Your favourite breakfast cereals
Another meaningful thread of mine.
Cheerios (honey nut) and any other Nestlé cereals are my favourite, but I believe refined sugar is the main culprit here.
I tried Alpen, which is an alternative with no sugar added. It tastes good enough but I dislike the ash (powdered milk or coke) that covers the muesli.
What's yours?

How do you eat them? Hot milk, Cold milk, Water?edeholland wrote:Oats
It's disgusting with water even if you add fruits.
I avoid cow milk. I tried soy milk and almond milk, but it tastes awful.

Re: Your favourite breakfast cereals
Normally I add them to hot milk. Water is indeed afwul, but if you have no milk you kinda have to. Because sugar sucks for my health and teeth I sometimes use sucralose to add flavour. It's a glucose-like substance that is 500 times sweeter and has 0 calories. You add a few drops and suddenly it tastes great (can also be used to make lemonade if you don't like drinking pure water). I also add fruits like bananas and apples and honey. I have seen people get creative with cacao and overnight oats and making shakes, but I haven't tried any of that yet.Djigit wrote:How do you eat them? Hot milk, cold milk, water?edeholland wrote:Oats

Recently I started reacting badly to cow milk. While not having an official diagnosis yet, I'm afraid I have become intolerant to cow milk. It sucks, because I have happily drank it for 23 years. So for a few months I have not been eating oats anymore, but have had to put up with "bread" instead.

Re: Your favourite breakfast cereals
I tried a few types of cereals as a kid, but I since I'm not really into sweet stuff, I preferred corn flakes.
These days I'll eat some oats if I have time. With milk, a little honey, some fruits, nuts and seeds.
I know many people say breakfast is the most important meal but I think it's the most overrated.

Breakfast is definitely overrated. I would skip it every day if I could.

I don't eat breakfast because I like to stay in bed until the latest possible time I can without being more than a few minutes late to work.Djigit wrote:How come?gibson wrote:Agreed, I dont remember the last time I ate breakfastedeholland wrote:Breakfast is definitely overrated. Re: Your favourite breakfast cereals
I am a true believer that cereal with water is better. The taste of milk conflicts with the taste of the cereal, whereas water does not. While still getting the same texture, water does not ruin the taste of cereal. My friends crucified me when I told them this...so for this reason I am coming here in search of others who share my beliefs of water being better than milk.
Edit: I pour the cereal before the water, for those asking
