It's okay, not a fan though. It's all very over the top and intense, they say everything like the world is ending right then and there. That got annoying.

The Wire, The Sopranos, True Detective, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Black Mirror (watch this!), House of Cards, Fargo, Rome, Firefly, Dexter, Freaks and Geeks, Shameless, Friday Night Lights, Six Feet Under, Battlestar Galactica, ... I could go on for a long time. As for comedies: Arrested Development, Curb your Enthusiasm, The Office (both UK and US), Parks and Recreation, ...
I'm allergic to procedurals, clich?s and poor writing.

And as for anime, the list is short. Katanagatari is my favourite so far, Zankyou no Terror was decent. Also shouldn't forget 5 cm/s, I was impressed by that one but it's a short film not a series.

Surprised nobody mentioned band of brothers, one of the first "movie" quality tv shows i think. Also twin peaks is famous but i couldnt appreciate it

Band of brothers was great, The Pacific was okay too.
I love the Rome series, it was pretty much the Game of Thrones before the Game of Thrones (imo) lol.
Vikings is another favorite of mine ^^.

Good movies lately are extremely rare and even the best ones aren''t close to the best TV shows in quality. It''s unfair though I guess, since movies get a lot less time to tell their story.
