To this day I don't believe there is an actual smoker that is a ''social smoker'' maybe for a little while, but all social smokers either quit or turn into full smokers, usually the latter.

The body has mechanisms to keep particles out of the lungs. Why in the hell would anyone intentionally put smoke particles and toxins into their lungs?

Smoking is so cool.

Not to mention that those addicted to nicotine have to have a fix every hour or so. I once had a student smoker start a fire in a wilderness are when he threw down his cigarette without making sure it was out. After we had gotten the fire under control I banned smoking from further field trips. The average length of the field trips was only three hours but that individual quit the class because he couldn't not smoke for even that short length of time.

I play mostly NR 55s in AOE III. I've encountered several player who have to pause the game for five minutes every hour and go have a smoke.

Well why would you do anything these days if harm is a concern! Alcohol, smokes, too much sun, pollution. GUNS (USA), car crashes, selfies (killed more people last year then shark attacks)

You live once. Live it!

For me the former.

I smoked for about 7 years, luckily I didnt start until I was 18 so I was able to quit. One of the best things I ever did for myself, I don't know how people could do it their whole life, I could feel it killing me. Now I am pretty straight edge. Don't drink or anything. I am vegan and only eat plants and love pure organic foods. its awesome!

oh yeah and smoking is not living or enjoying life, it sucks your energy in form of cost and health, stamina and its enjoyment is purely in the mind as once u do quit smoking smells and is one of the nastiest things, well for me....

I have a prejudice smokers, especially at schools. They blow out a puff of smoke and smell like burnt rubber. I have nothing against them smoking in their own homes, but to those who smoke in public "smoke free" areas (including cops): @$#* you.

At the same time, reducing the lifespan of others via second hand smoking.

Guns are not as great of a danger as lighting up a smoke is to your health. Trust me your not that likely to just get shot unless your some kind of gang banger. However smoking is a very comprehensive way to damage your health from pack #1.

heath is a synergistic effect and needless to say was probably smoking very different tobacco than today and i wonder how often since most smokers at some point get to a pack a day with the addictive additives.

I used to smoke for a very long time. Tryed to quit' cold turkey, patches, gums, pills. I even tryed hypnosis once. No good. But i have been without cigarettes for 13 months now - vaping instead. Thats the only thing that has cept me smokefree without missing my icky sticks.
