there is a tech that lets apache dragoons have a bonus vs vills where they 3 or 4 shot a vill or something. this is uncounterable especially in age 2 because they counter cavalry and if u bring back ur inf to counter raids, u give ur opponent too much time. so essentially the only effective counter is to go age3 and dragoons urself or build walls
If they die and you remake them it's less value from the no pop feature. To be any decent in age3 they need to be upgraded and the tech for vills is another 300w 300g iirc. They're not very different from like having 10 opris.
Lol I have never seen anyone going for apaches in tourney, why should we nerf stuff that people never use ? Native in general are really rarely seen in tourney and that's a shame, I would rather try to buff them, I don't want the game to have only one way of being played. Ofc it is relevant that you can make only a few of them, since you call them goons, you don't want to stop making goons after you have 8, so you will need to add a stable aswell to use them, then the building placement is obviously something important in aoe3 and you can't place it wherever you want+the opponent imediatly knows about it and even knows where is the TP so he can kill it easily (btw not showing nativ TP over the score would be a great change for ep Imo).

Except opris are countered by goons, slower, and dont have an instant animation with 12/14 range

but opris aren't countered by walls, while apache are.
Okay, I just did my noob teamgame with 400hp/42dmg apaches in age III. I had a lot of fun, but maybe it is slightly overpowered. I raided like 50 vills around minute 10-12, then everyone left or walled up entirely. French apaches - best age III unit in the game.
