Favorite things about DE
Just some random ones I like in addition to the obvious love for anything from ESOC. What do you guys like about DE so far?
1. ELO system
2. Much better settings
3. Recommended decks and all cards available.
4. Kept options for lots of classic things.
5. New age ups have potential
6. Grenadier rework is cool
7. Hotkeys and boat formations

1. I'm not sure I like that tbh. Ranks were fun for we had elo on top of this. QS is good however.
2. The settings are worse imo. What do you mean by better settings ?
3. All cards available is great but recommended decks are shit
4. Well, it's the same as the old aoe3 so idk if it should be a "favorite thing"
5. I like the new age ups true
6. I haven't tested it yet.
7. I guess.
I'd add the new civs which are cool.

Steam achievements is always fun. Gives everyone something to go after. My goal is to never get the one for reviving your explorer .
Re: Favorite things about DE
I love the diversity they added to revolution. I don't know for high players but for me revolutiok was some kind of pretty sad all-in identical for every civ.
Now even if all the options are not good, we have some diversity and I find this cool.

I like that you can only play ranked games through que, this means the leaderboards might actually mean something. I like the graphics as well.

Re: Favorite things about DE
for me personally the maps and stuff is the favorite thing. honestly for team games I was playing RE most of the time since it was too hard to fill a lobby on ep usually. with definitive edition it is kinda like everyone is 'forced' to play EP (definitive is a lot like ep). so just no longer having to play absolutely bs RE maps is my favorite thing

Re: Favorite things about DE
Is the reviving your explorer achievement obtained by buying him back? Or by walking to him when he has enough HP? It seems strange to translate "paying ransom" to "reviving".

I like the new civs
the historical battles (pity only 6 of them)
bringing in more players and bridging communities
new ELO ranking, without all those weird point traders and cheaters
revos
grens & other fancy stuff

Re: Favorite things about DE
My favorite thing is that people are more relaxed in the lobby and in the games. The continuous bashing and crying to be in the best team made the old game sick. Sometimes it took a half hour or more to get yourself a game, wondering why in the first place people want to play. People stopt if they where in the team with sergeant instead off the master sergeant. They stopt at 30 minutes in treaty because there teammate was a little bit slower in score (even when this person chooses this stratagy on purpose and turnt out to be the highest score on 55 min).
I love the move that the competition part is moved to a blind system and the open lobby is all about playing and learning and having fun. Yes I know I too lost a couple off games because my teammate was a beginner, but what the heck, I still tried to play my best game give him some advise and moved to the next game. I just try to get better, at eco, at fighting at strategy I give my own points for my progress, in the old game I had days that I went down 3 levels only because of quitters, so what does the score really say? And is really worth the fuzz and adrenaline?
Playing fun is first and competition is second.
I think it is a very good move of the team.

Garja is now in the list of creators of the game, as well as Rikikipu, Durokan and Dansil. I saw it when it showed the list of creators after completing the campaign.aaryngend wrote:Have you seen the leaderboard?? Re: Favorite things about DE
Here are my 3 favorites about DE:
1) Even resource distributions on good maps: I feel better even if I lose now. At least it's not about the resources, which is a main component of the game.
2) Fixed crates start: Finally, I can have a solid strategy for age 1 and start the game with a peace of mind. Random crates were fine for higher level players because they mastered other mechanics; but it was not good for lower level players.
3) Hunts are tamed: I'm not sure if it's just me, but the hunts are more manageable. They don't run away fast, which allows me to enjoy other aspects of the game.

Yeah I always played EP for a long time but I remember how exciting it was to actually have fair games and maps. That’s a big quality improvement, especially for team games the maps are just way nicer.

Re: Favorite things about DE
so far my favorite thing in FFA was to build an Inca fort outside a players base and cloak it, and build units and keep garrisoning them in it. then at the right time evacuating all for an attack. So far not many are aware Inca can even do this and those forts don't get found out.... I usually die to a full on assault though as I cant really fight a full on base attack with cannons with them. I am not really using the town hall thingy though.
