I propose the following two-step system to once and for all fix aoe3: de('s framework).*
1) Delete revolts
2) Delete common unit special abilities† (commonly called "MOBA abilities")‡
3) remove inca
* water balance not considered nor discussed.
† exceptions: roughly any hero ability that was present on Legacy
‡ includes nat post buttons
this gives good groundwork to tweak as necessary the bountiful and rich civs and options, and reevaluate the value of a non-transitive game -- tweaking to reestablish harmony between the three classic archetypes: 1) rush 2) boom 3) turtle, as functions of Map and Natural Resources which incentivizes Control and Pace.
each implementation, unit, mechanic, etc. introduced must be considered in all three fashions and on the substrates they're set (maps)
also, balance treaty in the imperial age. doing not makes sup less fun unless it makes it more fun (halb speed to age 1)

Two Simple Steps to Fix AoE3: DE, Foolproof
If I were a petal
And plucked, or moth, plucked
From flowers or pollen froth
To wither on a young child’s
Display. Fetch
Me a ribbon, they, all dead
Things scream.

You come across as a rather sophisticated guy, ngl

I didn't understand if you're serious or it's a joke but okay. There is a lot to be done to put this game in a decent state and on the one hand you have to start but we are saying all this between us and the wall because the developers don't care if they don't make money on it.
Re: Two Simple Steps to Fix AoE3: DE, Foolproof
I will have written badly, in a nutshell I mean that the developers do not care to remove mechanics or civilizations of the game to balance because doing that they would lose players and purchases of new civilizations so if the developers do not have a profit.
