1) Coming back from a bad start
or 2) winning with stupid BO's (maybe the two are correlated)

Watching my slingers sling tonnes of rocks into enemy muskets, the physics animation is truly satisfying.

when your opponent goes into stagger mode but they have enough skirmishers that they form a dense but thin line, and then you line up your cannons to shoot from the side /at an angle so the cannon balls skip across the entire formation and decimate the column

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
this feels pretty nice,
When you grab 2 TPs on Lrg Sagunay in a 6player FFA and boom on the sea and suddenly people start noticing your score is 2-3x what they have and you know your in for a collaborated fight.
but maybe the best feelings was when I started playing and lost almost every FFA game, but then after finding a good build order and stratedgy suddenly started winning them a bunch.

I agree with the Lancers thing, they have something going about them, very pleasant to use properly — against infantry

Here is a rough idea of the "build"

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
Have to admit that Guard Nizams are quite competitive against imperial units. Its just difficult to get enough shipments ready. Ideally, I'd want building hp, advanced arsenal, advanced mosque (faster Nizams and better vs cav), jan combat, jan cost reduction, refrigeration, food silos, eco theory, capitalism, two factories and then, after revolting, the Nizam train card + enabling villagers. That makes a whopping 13 cards, although one could skip food silos, and the last two cards can also be sent a bit later. So 10 cards at least. Still quite much.helln00 wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 09:43Here is a rough idea of the "build"

Anyway, I had some fun games. I just wished I had known the effect of counter infantry rifling on Nizams earlier. That's quite nice, indeed.

Hearing streamers play video game music that you know.
minimoult is listening to the banana bird cave song from DKC3
Or is it a sampled version of the track?

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
Now that I played a number of games as Ottoman doing some Nizam Egypt Revolutions I again think that the Ottoman inability to actually build Nizams or Spahis is quite sad. These are cool units. Both being entirely dependent on shipments, which also take too much time to send and thereby block pop space, makes them rather useless for a standard game. The whopping costs of a shipment (adv. mosque) + 2.500 wood for some 15 Nizams, minor upgrades, and the shipment changes from jan to nizam are also a bummer.

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
Could give them an alternative to the church card - an age 2 card that makes Nizams and Spahi trainable (yes i said it!). This could replace the Ronin/Dance Halls card, functioning similarly to the trainable Iron Troop/Jat Lancer/Yojimbo. I think it needs to be separate from advanced church, otherwise it would be too good (not like devs care about something being "too good" though). Also I think spahis should become trainable in age 4, not earlier.

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
There are builds in more standard games that make use of them. They are kinda powerspiky mechanics for otto though. I managed to play a couple of team games purely just spaming shipment of Nizams and spahi and tbh its a deathball once you get it going, especially since they shadow techduckzilla wrote: ↑31 Jan 2022, 09:25Now that I played a number of games as Ottoman doing some Nizam Egypt Revolutions I again think that the Ottoman inability to actually build Nizams or Spahis is quite sad. Man, don't know if you guys are trolling or being serious. xD
Jan/abus is a quite solid composition, and I don't think none civ has a actual counter to it. But otto eco is bad, so its counterbalance it.
I don't think giving otto a OP cavalry unit or a OP carolean will make any favors to the balance of the game.
If you guys are trolling, them yeah, guess I just fell for the bait

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
Well if you have to age up to 3 and spend a card to train those units, then it's not that scary. And then there is the matter of actually adjusting their price and stats for it to make sense. Similarly Spahi in age 4 should probably cost 400 res and be a 4 pop unit.

When you crackshot the first renegado and meele the second, to then watch in agony for 30 seconds and finally collect that sweet 95w. It wasn't stolen. My hero is alive.
Its a good day.
