Re: Next AoE2 Tourny $25K Weekend tourny
Personally, I think none of that would matter if micro wasn't invisible to spectators. Watching top players micro in games like SC2 and AoE2 can be mesmerizing sometimes, but in AoE3 50% of the micro can't even be seen by anyone other than the player performing it. Especially on DE, where you can o...

Re: Next AoE2 Tourny $25K Weekend tourny
Home City / Cards hurts AoE3 alot. There is so little infrastructure on the map. Such a huge part of the game are shipments, but they are so intangible it's hard to get excited about them as a viewer. Second, the variety may seem good, but Age 3 has way too much of it. I stopped playing when TAD cam...

Re: "Unique" units in AOE3
I feel that the nuanced civ differences in AoE2are much more interesting than the wildy-different Age3 civ mechanics with numerous reskinned units. Base Age3 was pretty decent, but as the expansions kept coming, the civs got more wild and the units more repetitive. I enjoyed base Age3, Warchiefs was...

Editting UI to be like Age of Mythology
To the tech fellows of the community, I'm looking for a UI that emulates Age of Mythology (mini-map on right, and building production selection on left). Does such a thing exist? If not, what file do I need to edit to change it myself? I'm somewhat familiar with the AoM UI and I assume AoE3 is prett...

Re: What's aoe2 like?
Aoe2 is a really good game and time has been very kind to it. However, althoughtI see it as the best Age game by quite a bit, I don't play it much simply because it takes alot of work to be decent. It's not an easy game; relaxing not allowed. Also, it is a bit slower than AoE3, but not as slow as it...

Re: Is creeping treasures cheating?
Pretty sure creeping was intended... I remember doing it/seeing it done at launch, albeit it has been over a decade so I could be mistaken in my old age. It's an obvious technique; there's no way the testers didn't notice it during playtesting. Hence if they didn't want it, they'd have changed it.

glad you are ok.. and those close call video clips are always nuts, although many of the close calls/crashes are kind of understandable, bad weather, people not seeing lights changing and such, but what boggles my mind are some of the pedestrian clips - some seriously oblivious/moronic people. wow

Re: Spanking
Right, it all depends on the definitions - that's my point entirely. Saying sentimental things with the point of making one side look good/bad really means nothing. It's just word games. For the studies, they exist (not hard to find, we all have the internet at our fingertips), but there's no point ...

Re: Spanking
I tried reading studies when it began getting close to starting discipline, but I got very little value out of them due to the contradictions. Studies show positives (or negatives) for both sides - and each study generally looks good on the surface. Hence I determined it all to be pointless, because...

Re: Spanking
The problem with studies is that it's incredibly easy for them to be biased, or their results misinterpreted; intentionally or not. I work in a field where, in one instance, the same studies are used to prove complete opposite view points. How can that be? Well, it's all how the data is interpreted....

just a few general comments... Personal experience based on how you were raised means nothing, because everyone is different. I was spanked as a kid. I turned out great. Re: Tournament Rules & Discussion
So the Mexican 2nd starting building sometimes fails to spawn on maps. Without it the civ sucks. What to do if that occurs in a tourney game? Will the game be restarted or just bad luck (auto loss).

Hey, I am from USA GMT -6, but I have a flipped schedule because I work nightshift. Could we play the weekend of 23-25? I can be somewhat flexible if I know ahead of time. However, times around 1300 - 1930 wont work (I sleep then).

Re: Spartan Wars 2018 Betting discussion thread
It was always stated that any bets placed after the match already started would simply be disregarded, in the case of bets not being closed. Where in the betting rules does it say anything else about 'cheating' like this? All of us just simply thought they would be disregarded. of course it's cheat...
