We call it rugby football in the rest of the world. But the yanks put pads on them and instead of throwing sideways and back they throw forwards. Then stop play after every 15 second play and go to 5 mins of analysis of that 15 second play , this was what i saw when i once watched superbowl.

Soccer in your words is what we call association football. The rules were invented in the 1800s. The professional league was up and running even before american 'football' was a figment of the imagination. Tell me how many times do they kick the ball in that 'football' ?
