Re: Noob Champion
So guys,I am curious as to what you think would pass as a noob ? What PR should one be below to be classed as a noob? Because to me the term is used far too often, especially by the PR 35 + crew . How can people be classed as noobs if they are PR 20 plus ? To me anyone of that level is mid range and probably a fairly decent player. Most of the aoe3 players these days seem to be Serg/Master Serg level.
Re: Noob Champion
It is relative. If you play against LoOk_tOm, for example, you are a noob regardless of your PR.
Pay more attention to detail.

I think PR ceiling should be 24 or else the tourney will be dominated by captains and majors

That is all very true. If I had to guess, I'd say "noob" isn't meant to be taken literally, but instead is to be interpreted as the active group of lieutenants, captains, and majors. It's up to incog/kami to decide, though!
Re: Noob Champion
There is no PR limitation or anything. Just that, due to the nature of these rules it seems likely that we will end with high-level players. So let's start at a lower level so that we can go through people naturally.
The biggest issue would be pacing but it's not like we're in a hurry or anything.

Due to many people of ESOC being absolutely amazing at the game PR20 to PR25-ish could be considered noobs.
Why? Well, because it's around the tournament and there's no tournaments for PR19 or below AFAIK. Especially anything below PR17.
Why? It's not entertaining and we low PRs aren't good enough to be in any sort of tournament.
Are we noobs? Yes. Are we noobs in tournaments? We are not noobs in the tournaments because we do not play in them. Simple as that.
Just my 2 cents.

Last tournament was from PR 15, if I'm not mistaken. So that isn't an argument. I think accepting the relativity is the way to go.
-PR15 is noob for me, I'm noob for PR 35 and so on.

@nsl how copy?
I may confirm that time as well but let me check what I have coming up first. Most likely it'll work out
edit: mitoe vs aiz will take place then. maybe we do it after that series actually

Re: Noob Champion
Sorry for the late reply - I've been caught up with so many frosh orientation activities, I don't know if I can even play a match this week. If Queen is really eager, I can play sunday about 21 gmt but I legit haven't even thought about the game since the last time we played. It would most likely be better for me if it was next saturday but the audience might want action asap. What do you guys think?
Re: Noob Champion
I'd prefer to get some action in this weekend, if that's all right. No pressure. Ideally, when aiz vs mitoe gets finished.
If you play in this event try to make sure you can play out the series, especially as the champ. I know it's an investment.

As far as I know, the match between aiz and mitoe is being played tonight, not tomorrow (Sunday); so in theory, it should be all clear tomorrow for the match to continue from last week.

I probably can't do that but there is a chance I'll be back home at that time.
