Snuden, you yourself do unconventional and surprising builds. Who the fuck rushes with cetan bows and war clubs?!
I'll maybe play with you again even though I don't like 1v1.

I finally got EP to run fairly smooth and it seems to have also fixed some FTJ issues. Sadly we are too late for the 2v2 tourney.

Just to add on to the discussion though, the "best/optimum builds" at a high level are not always the "best builds" at a lower level. You generally want one which is decent, but what's important is that it's easy for you to do.
An extreme example of this is someone doing the VC first build. The level of macro the player executing the build has is really important in this instance, as well as their ability to use a lower number of units/delayed batch effectively to defend.
Find your own pace, and soon you will be soaring in the skies like an elifent.
Also this may be common sense, but just in case I think I should mention that in most cases it's not worth copying a build you've seen me do.

@XeeleeFlower you have no idea what you're talking about! Cetan bows and war clubs are invincible. Not even the best of the best can defend against it!
Pay more attention to detail.

Mine was slightly less elegant but worked pretty well IIRC. It was at the 10 min mark I messed up.

Well, I went vc and was very surprised to get hit with his bow/club mass. Somehow defended, held, and ended up winning. It was quite unexpected for me and not something that you usually see.

for a few seconds I get carried away to the dream of me playing vs Tit in the finals of the 2018 ESOC Crypto Corner Masters. H20 is casting with Mitoe and they are impressed. "Wow, this sepoy micro from both sides is so impressive! AND WOAH HERE COME THE URUMIS, WHAT AN INSANE MIND GAME."

I told you. Top players try to trap the opponent which is why pr35 players make a lot of mistakes against pr38+.
At lower level, however, people just copy build orders, and expect everything to go right without scouting and without being active.
That's not going to happen I'm afraid. If you don't have a plan to win, you're not going to win.

Also higher ranking players punish mistakes harder. I know of atleast 5-6 games where i shouldve lost a game vs someone a few pr lower, but then they raid with all cav leaving their infantry unprotected or a similar mistake. And 2 min later, it's gg. Thats how you really win a game you should lose. Just wait/force for the other to make a big mistake and strike from there. Kinda like being a rook down but then you get 1 chance to start a checkmate sequence. Most players will miss the chance or fuck up the sequence. Top players usually won't. That's why they have higher elo, not because they really know more openings, have higher apm or whatever.

@Snuden don’t get down on yourself you actually seem like you have enough game knowledge and understanding to work out the problems you’re currently facing to improve your play.
I’m no pro or anything but I’d be happy to play with you and see if I could help you with a thing or two.
There’s a lot of tiny tiny details in this game that make a huge difference.
For example, when holding a rush with longbows making a little manor and market make shift wall is nice but I’ve learned that it actually works better to not so much have a wall but place your manors and stuff to effect the pathing of his units.
Obviously a wall will do that but once they walk around it, they have a clean path to your longbows. If you can leave your longbows in a little pocket free to shoot while his units are weaving through houses it can make a big difference. If your Longbows can’t get surrounded 360 degrees by their cav units, you’ll be amazed how much more value you can get from them.
