Tag users
Is that even possible anymore?
Re: Tag users
Don't think it is. Miss the feature a bit to be honest

when you tag someone, they get notification that they were mentioned in a post

Let's say there's a thread about the Japan Torii gates build. I'd tag you because I know you use that build quite a lot. The tag notifies you which means you'll be able to find the thread more easily.
I miss this feature quite a lot.
Re: Tag users
Probably can look into adding it. I feel like most of the use for that was in tournament scheduling threads.

And the betting the threads. . .
Re: Tag users
ah perhaps. But the point being the staff can learn new ways to do notifications. Most users dont use tagging.
Re: Tag users
I see people tagging occasionally and I occasionally want to do it myself to be honest.

It's currently in our development pipeline. Not sure if it will come to fruition or not.

Re: Tag users
It's frankly going to be a lot of effort for a small feature. I'd like to get around to doing it, but it's going to be difficult and not very rewarding.
There are phpbb3 extensions that exist for this, but they are not supported or up-to-date as far as I can tell (and marked as "abandoned"), so that means trying it, and it may or may not work, in which case we'd then have to develop our own. Further complicating the issue, something seems to have gone wrong with our own phpbb3 install somewhere along the line that messed up installing extensions to begin with, and debugging this problem is already something I've put some hours into, with little luck.
This isn't a "no", and debugging the extension installation thing is something that needs done anyway, but I just want you to realize what you're asking for.

I know how it's supposed to work, haha. It's just much easier said than done.
EDIT:
I think I realized where you misunderstood:
...but I just want you to realize what [magnitude of work] you're asking for.
I think you must have misinterpreted this of me asking you what you meant.

ROFL if it's too slow for you, then code it, and send it to esoc staff. Otherwise, be patient.

This was available on the previous host "Proboards", so the code should be transported when you moved?
-Or that was backend of the site?

Re: Tag users
Proboards had an entirely different backend forum software, which we didn't even have access to.
Just wanna jump in and say I'm a 100% self-taught programmer as of now.
