Funily enough i barely ever toma rushed with iro. So i couldnt even help him if i cared to do so
Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
Why toma rush? Tomahawk is the worst age 2 unit of iro.
The key to beat iro, though it's difficult, is to force him to train more tomahawk rather than aenna.

What how are tomas better than aenna? They are like a more expensive musk with less attack

Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
Tomas with wc aura are just a much better anti cav than euro musks. But at range they're not great yea, shit attack and shit animation. They also do cost wood, which is a bit annoying compared to aennas. But when you want to apply pressure you can't really do it with aennas, because they can't hit and run and get easily caught by huss. Later on ofc when you have a decent mass of tomas you can mix aennas in.

Aenna mass with a few tomas in the back works great. Aenna doesnt get caught that easily by huss because of the 5 speed. They are much more cost effective than tomas

Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
If your opponent has a civ allowing him to mass cav easily, he will shit on that pretty easily with mass cav + mm and 8 bows or sth

Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
I will define tomahawk as "age 2 halberdier with a few ranged attack".
I only use them in melee mode, keep a few to counter cav/siege etc.
If i already have enough toma to kill cav, i will go full kanya/aenna.
Toma are good vs civs that has strong cav but weak infantry, such as German.
And they are better at sieging, if your opponent do naked FF etc.

Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
idk what it is with everyone shitting on toma's. They are pretty much musks (trade evenly in musk vs. musk if you have wc aura), but with more HP and better against cav. Yeah the animation and the wood cost is kinda sucky, but Kanya cost wood too so that kinda makes latter point moot. The animation doesn't really affect anything either because for the most part as iro you're not going to be skirmishing or anything like that because of aenna, you'll most likely just be engaging hard and close and z-moving which toma's are quite good at. Not to mention you can also get them to veteran in age 2 with 3 cards which is insane.

That logic is highly suspicious.Darwin_ wrote:Kanya cost wood too so that kinda makes latter point moot.
Pay more attention to detail.

Re: Umeu's Tomahawk Rush
Well costing wood still sucks because it's expensive, but having both units costing wood means that the macro is easier. Just like some civs can train units without chopping any wood, relying on wood crates for infrastructures, iro can ignore gold in colonial.
